#LiveLent: Embracing Justice

This year as part of our Lent Journey we are encouraging members of the Carlford Benefice to follow the Church of England's #LiveLent Embracing Justice reflections which start on Ash Wednesday 2nd March.

Live Lent: Embracing Justice is the Church of England's theme for Lent 2022. It invites us to examine our own lives truthfully, to see the world more deeply and to pray - for the church and the world far and near - that 'justice may roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream' (Amos 4.24).

For each day of Lent, the booklet offers a daily Bible reading, a short reflection and a prayer, as well as a practical challenge. Each week follows a different thread through the many stories of justice in the Bible to explore how God works with humanity to bring justice, wholeness and salvation to all.

Here is a sample of the booklet:

There is also a more in-depth book on the same theme.

We have ordered booklets for our parishes so please sign up in Church to get one when they arrive. You'll also be able to access the reflections by a smartphone app (available later in February) and via social media posts which we'll share on our Facebook page.

Just doing the readings and reflections will be great but if you'd also like to talk about what you've read we are going to offer face to face and zoom sessions each week just to do that. Please see our 'Join the conversation' post for times & places.

We pray that you'll truly be able to #Livelent.
