Announcement from Rev’d Katrina Dykes:
It is with regret I am announcing that I will be leaving the Carlford Benefice in the New
Year to take up a post in Somerset.
Phil and I moved to Suffolk in 2021 expecting that we would establish new friendships and
stay here until I retired. I was looking forward to enabling the nine churches of this
benefice to come together around a common vision to serve their local communities and
to see them grow and flourish. Our hopes have been overtaken by the pressing needs of
our wider family.
For the last few months we have been prayerfully considering how we can effectively
support them from this great distance. An opportunity has arisen for me to take up a post
which will enable us to be nearer to our family members at this very difficult time, and
enable us to share with them the challenges that lie ahead.
I will be licensed to the benefice of Chew Valley South on 8th February 2024. My last
Sunday here will be 14th January.
Over the coming weeks I will talk more about what the upcoming vacancy will mean for
you, and to help you to prepare. Please pray for us as we will be praying for you in these
changing times.
